Account settings help
The Timer & search settings page allows you to specify your country, and to change the method by which timers and searches are set on your PVR. You must make sure that you choose the appropriate setting, otherwise timers and searches set using Toppy Remote Control will not work.
You cannot change your mobile phone settings via the Account settings page. You must follow the instructions to register your phone again, on the Account details page. Details of how your to register your mobile phone will appear on the account page when you have accepted the conditions for use of the SMS service. The Account details page also allows you to view a log of SMS messages sent and received, and of requests you have made to retrieve timer and search information from Toppy Remote Control.
Country settings
We need to know your country so that we can show you appropriate channel lists. For example, Welsh viewers receive S4C on channel number 4, and the normal Channel Four service on channel number 8, and they don’t receive ABC1. Make sure this setting is correct on the Account details page; to alter it, pick one of the selections from the list and click Change. Changing this setting will automatically reset the timer collection method, and you will need to choose it again.
Timer settings via
The Account details page shows how your account is set up to retrieve timers. To change the option, you need to go to the Timer & search settings page, where you will a description of each option available. The View channels link for each option will show you all the channels for which we support setting of timers, and the channel number or name that your software needs to use to work with that option.
At present, the system supports setting of timers remotely using two TAPs on the Toppy, EPG Uploader and Jag’s EPG. The preferred solution is EPG Uploader, which can be used solely for setting timers, if you don’t want to use it to provide an EPG as well. It is fairly simple to configure, and we provide a sample configuration file that many users will not even need to modify, as well as an automated installer.
Jag’s EPG can also be used, but if you have customised your channel list by adding or removing channels, we may have to create a specific group of settings for you.
You must select an option via the Account settings page after your account has been created, and you have chosen the appropriate country or region.
If you do not see an option appropriate to your area or the software you are using, and you use an alternative one, timers may not be set correctly. Where you use the SMS service, we cannot refund any charges due to incorrect settings.
Searches via
The Searches via option on the Account details page shows how you want searches to be created on your Toppy; you can change this option via the Timer & search settings page. Searches can be set using the UK Auto Scheduler TAP, or Jag’s EPG. If you are using Jag’s EPG to retrieve timers, searches will be sent to your PVR automatically at the same time, if you select the same option, or you can retreive them separately, though this is not an option provided in the setup wizard. With UK Auto Scheduler, you need to set up a separate task on your computer to retrieve searches; the Setup wizard will walk your through the process. You can change this option on the Account settings page.
Record padding
You can, optionally, request that all timers we send to your PVR have padding added to them, so that recordings start early and end late. Change your padding settings on the Timer & search settings page, and remember to just enter the scheduled time of a recording - we’ll do the rest. Note that if you change the padding after setting a recording, you won’t be able to delete it remotely.
Access key
The Access key is your unique code, which is used in conjuction with the scripts that retrieve details of timers and searches from the web site and transfer them to your PVR. You should not share this with anyone else; if you have set timers via SMS, and someone else knows your Access key, it may be possible for them to retrieve your timer messages and make this site generate a chargeable text message to you. Do not include your Access key in any messages that you post in the forums.
